This Sunday I was told that "God was not about to let what he started in my life die." Meaning whatever God started in my life he was surly to complete and see done in my life. From there it was get your dreams back hold and and see them come to pass. The enemy that's been stalking me all this time was about to be silenced and defeated. This would be it's last attempt. Well this week was a serious one! From my car blowing up to the mental stress, This week was seriously something but through it all I have to say thank you!

Happy Birthday Dr. King
In celebrating Dr. King’s birthday I really can help but think, “how far really have we come?” Are we as African Americans really living out our lives as grateful legacies to the struggle of those who came and fought before us or if still here today would those people who fought for equal rights and equality for us be sorely disappointed? IN his speech Dr. King says “I have been to the mountaintop.” I am wondering if he visited that same mountaintop today how full would his valley be?

Forgiveness
Forgiveness! The one thing that releases us from the negative situational tie to another in a form that is unhealthy for our being. It is the one element that has tested every human being on earth at least one time or another. Forgiveness is a part of life that not only frees us, but in many ways it testifies to our maturity.
It is safe to say that if you live on this earth, at some time or the other you will be tested with the mandate of forgiveness in some way shape or form, and if you have not yet then please! Keep on living! In my life I have experienced much and though much of it was wrong it would be easy for me to play the victim, however I choose to look back at life and declare! “It did not kill me!” In being honest I will say that it took some time to let things go and walk forward. You see in my mind at one time I thought forgiveness was simply moving on.
True forgiveness and the ability to move on do work together hand in hand, however you have truly forgiven until you can see the person for who they are and not what they have done to you. You are only able to move on after you have forgiven. You can’t skip over in the process. I will admit that though I have had to learn to forgive, and have practiced forgiving often, I will say there are still times that I am challenged with the ability to do it.
The bible says to forgive for with the same measure you forgive others, you will also be forgiven. No matter how difficult you must always toggle through and forgive those who have trespassed against you, as if you don’t, you bind yourself to them and their action. Forgiveness not only allows you to let go but to also force the situation to let go of you with, out sowing seeds that would eventually cause you to birth bitterness.
Today choose to forgive, and let go, walk I this life freely, without being tied to the past! If we consistently think about the fact that we have done wrong and would like to e forgiven by those we have wronged, it makes it easier to forgive those who have wronged us!

Ted Williams Encourages us to accomplish!
.
Today was a rather interesting day for me; I came to the realization that no matter what I should and can never let go of what dreams and goals I have for myself. At the the place where I decided it was over I was forwarded an e mail of "the homeless man with the golden voice!"
I read his story, I looked him up, I identified with the things I read and the things he said about himself. This man was honest about his life, he was grateful for whatever he could get in the form of help from passersby. What intrigued me most was his humility but I mean how can you be homeless and uppity (no offense). This man said he “prayed to God for one more chance.” In a time when the power of God is continually questioned, and the ability of prayers strength is continually talked about as something that needs to be proven, this man got an answer!
Who would have thought a reporter from the Columbus dispatch would have stopped by and changed this man’s life for the rest of it. Yesterday this man had nowhere to go and today it has been made official that he has signed on to be the announcer for the CAVS. Along with the job the man was given a house by his new employer. This man was so blessed with the opportunity of a second chance it is stated that various entities went into a bidding war for the gift this man has.
“The homeless man with the golden voice,” is living proof that strong faith supersedes factual doubt, and that your gift will indeed make room for you. This story screams to us that life never gives up on a person who has not given up on themself. I think what’s greatest about this story is the fact that through all the years this man was reunited with his mother. What a blessing! After years of living beneath who he is, he returns home to see his mother to show her how he has cleaned himself up and turned his life around.
This man gave me some hope! Many times we mistake “no” for “not right now” or we may be seeking something beneath what we are entitled to and until we get the vision for more it seems as though we live life stuck in/on pause until the moment clarity interrupts our current vision to take it on as the continual sight to see with. We are entitled to all the greatness we can believe for, through that it is promised that we can have success if we work for it!
Even in a world turned upside down, with a housing market systematically gone to pots I still believe in miracles! If a homeless man can come to himself miles away from home, still live on the street and survive to one day become one of the most sought after individuals on the face of the earth with millions viewing his viral video, to in turn to ink a promising job that he enjoys, land a home, and end up reunited with his mother. Then I too can achieve that which I have set in my heart as a goal and a dream for my life. I hope that you all who dream, decide today to dream big, to live on purpose, and to execute to the best of your abilities, I hope that you understand that you in deed are the greatest miracle walking, talking, and breathing. If life had no use for you then it would do away with you, the mere fact that you are still breathing, and dreaming, proves that there is great need for you now! At this time!
I challenge you today to live your life maximizing your gift and your usage of it. Open up the box that contains your treasure given to you and work it!

Over the Christmas holiday I had the privilege of viewing “For Colored Girls.” This by far was a wonderful movie, with a great expressed theme of the joys and pain, and struggles of the African American woman. I enjoyed the film, but was somehow taken back at the fact that throughout the course of the film, it was as though men could do no right!
In the world in which we live today, the images thrown on us are the lazy, dead beats, with saggy pants, fuzzy braids, and hustles that turn more tricks then clowns in that little car at the circus. I am no dummy to big business women like chick flicks, and they will come in droves to see their counter parts be abused, beat, raped, played, dogged or just outright done wrong. Personally for me I think it’s a form of therapy that aids in the viewers ability to relate the characters on film.
Needless to say I know if any man brought his lady there for a date, the evening had to be rather awkward, and on the silent side (lol). Through it all I am not ashamed to say that I was a bit upset by yet another film where men do wrong. I am no angel I believe that I am an imperfect being striving for the shared eternity with a perfect God. With that said, I am still a man who, works everyday, who tends to his children loves his wife, supports her and pushes her to her max even when it makes her uncomfortable at times.
I am a man who gives back to his community one person at a time, I am a man and I am a good man. I still have issues but for once I would like to see a film where the small number of good men get the credit they are due! Credit is not a plaque, or a congratulatory speech, but it’s simply knowing that you are being seen, and you are being shown as an example. To me this type of credit strengthens a man’s awareness of his place to his family, his community and to his people. “For Colored Girls” was a wonderful film, I’d like to throw a pitch “for dark skin men!” lol hahahahahahahahah
Free indeed?
What does it really mean to be free? The dictionaries definition states:
· the condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints
· exemption: immunity from an obligation or duty
If I am to understand this, then to me freedom is the ability to live one’s life without the power of other persons, views, thoughts, or imposed mindsets affecting the outcome of the choices that an individual makes for his or herself. As we start out the walk of a new year I question as to if we are really free or are we merely getting by with the small tokens of freedom we have been given as a result of our small progress to break curses, bonds and unhealthy ties to our lives.
Are we totally free or does something still enslave our mind, our will, and our emotions? Has the way we have previously lived life seemingly programmed us to a way of living that we are used to, but because we no react on our own terms as opposed to another’s we consider ourselves freed? I think that we are way off, if we are only free from something physically then we still have the mental and emotion to go back and bring to freedom! We can no longer be content with small steps of what being free is, but we must settle at being totally free in all aspects of our lives!
It is not enough to partially detach from things that are unhealthy, as your partial detachment still renders you susceptible to the affects of the portions of your life where you are still attached. Freedom should be your life’s pursuits your soul’s aphrodisiac, and your hearts place of rest!

Thoughts
In my life I cannot say that I have been privy to multiple friendships along the way. When you really think about the definition of friendship it’s difficult to think that a person could really think that friendship equates to high numbers. Unless we are solely speaking in terms of face book connections, or MySpace acceptances
“A friend sticks closer than a brother"
“A true friend is someone you can pour the contents of your heart into."
“Friendship is the bond between two hearts, the trust between two souls, and the connection between one entity in multiple beings."
These are just a few of the things that people say about friendship. I myself have come to the place where I believe that we no longer know how, or even want to be friends, as we are to predisposed with our own agendas to establish a true connection with anyone who is not enabling our plan, furthering our future, or adding some sort of connection through association to get us to wherever it is we want to be. In today’s world friends are people who merely contribute to our cause, fulfill or needs, and buy us things. It's a sad day in the world when we arrive to our goals destination and look over and have no real one to share it with as the pile of individual to our left are individuals we have used and stepped over to get here, and the pile to our right are mere people we call when we need a reference, a contribution, or a powerful "in" to the society that’s needed to get us to the next level.
In my personal life up until a year ago I was a person who was on the search for friends, always appeasing, doing, and trying the whole nine. It was until then I realized the folks I hung out with in my past life that I called "friend" never really were my friends in the first place. I mean yes we had great laughs and giggles, we may have even hung together for a period of time, but I have found that they were more important to me than I was to them. "You can't say that Myster!" Oh but I can! Through secret conversations that weren’t so secret, phone calls that were thought to be disconnected or the forwards of e mails that ended up in my lap, the constant belittling remarks, or the way I felt after leaving the presence of a person I called friend. All these were determining factors in what led me to understand that I never really in my life had the friendship I sought after.
A family later, with responsibilities, an outlook on life that does not involve just myself and the blessing of being a provider I now see things differently (that would include myself). If in this life I never attain a friend outside of my union as I desire I have learned that I am my own best friend, I am the greatest keeper of my secrets. I am the mystery that as yet to be solved and the greatest novel that has yet to be read. I think we as individual should be choosier with who and how we share ourselves with others. We should listen quicker then we speak, and if we sit back in a crowded room of humans we can always see how things will play out without even wasting time and effort.
A song writer once wrote “in times like this we need the lord.” Oh how I agree however it would not hurt to have true friends that see you as a valuable gift given to them, homies who are there for you no matter what, and girlfriends that don’t get catty when you show up dressed better than them while wearing the same shoes! Life’s way to short!
In the place that I am now I can say in confidence that I have made great connections, but I only chose to connect with individuals who character show me that they choose gifts (like myself) for the indurations of a life time, and in the end once it’s all sealed in the bond of friendship, the greatest revelation is the contents of my heart poured out over the soil of the garden of their soul that contains the good seeds I have sewn into them and they in me. I challenge you today to value yourself as your own best friend, and to be better friends to the friends you have.
